The glands which produce new aqueous tears and the drains through which the old ones exit the eyes.
DISCUSSION
The lacrimal system is a vital part of tear film production and management. The watery (aqueous) part of the tear film is manufactured and secreted through the lacrimal glands. Then, in a system built for continuous renewal of the tear film, tears drain off the eyes through the lower and upper puncta, passing through the canaliculi.
